The Carnival comes to Lucan East :)

Our Schools summer fair.

Each June the P.T.A organise a summer fair. All the children and school community look forward to this annual event with great excitement. A lot of preparation went into organising the day. Spongebob Squarepants even visited the school to help promote the fair. Although the weather was forecast as wet and windy, the sun shone throughout the day. There was a great turnout of children, family and friends, as well as teachers for the fair. Dad, Michelle, Lisa, Erin, Lee & Robyn came and took part in the fair, having fun and helping out. It was lovely to have them in the school and great to have their support. The theme of a summer carnival really came to life, as the laughter of the children was heard all around. There were ten different carnival games, which the children loved. The candy stop shop was a big success, as the children bought their candy floss, popcorn and ice creams. The two fun bouncy castles were very busy throughout the whole fair.  The two barbeques, Halla and non halla, were delicious, it was nice to take some timeout to sit and chat with others in the school community while eating our food. the children enjoyed face painting. I even managed to fit in having some Henna done too. We had a cake stall which was sold out of its yummy cakes in no time. The gardening club that Michael was a part of in the school, had a garden stall, selling there own vegetables and plants that they had worked hard on through the school year. There was a guess the teacher as a baby game, which both the children and adults enjoyed taking part in. There was a guess how many balloons in eddies (the principals) car game. This was a tricky one, but we had a happy Winner. There were mascots helping out at our P.t.A stand. Selling books and inflatables.  The school was treated to our School choir opening the event and what a Great start they made it. Grouping together with the P.T.A and other Parents from the school on this event really made the sense of school community come to life in a real way. Although it is Brilliant to have raised the €1500 funds for the school in this event, it is also very important to add that the benefits of the special family fun day together are as equally important. Over all we as a P.T.A raised €9.255.25 in events this school year. taking out expenses for organising the event we gave the school a profit of €7.193.98. I love "working" as secretary on the schools P.T.A. :)  But guess what SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER WOHOO :)
So far the Money raised from the summer fair has been spent on this outside classroom :)
