One day...........

So I've had some free time with the normal routine gone for the summer holidays. I love reading. Always have, and hope I always will. I love it all. From beginning to end. Choosing what to read. The perfect smell of a new book. Cracking the seam of the cover for the first time. The smell of an old book, thinking about the story it holds, both in its pages and because of its pages, if that makes sense? I'm one of those people that reads the last line of the book first ha but it never makes any sense without the rest of the story, so its quickly forgotten. I love learning about the characters. sometimes having the feeling of almost being that character while you read. the mystery of what is going to happen. The background to why it did. I love the ability to be drawn into a whole new world. The feeling of both discovery and freedom to a degree that that new world can bring. Even if it is just while you read. I have been to some amazing places, magical even, while sitting still. those places are real to me. They exist somewhere out there in the unknown. I say I love reading and that is 110% true, but at the same time somewhere in the back of my head is always that bittersweet voice saying, "ya need to get a move on, stop all the reading and start the writing. get those million stories out into the world." It is so frustrating if I'm being honest. The whole way threw a book I am engrossed in that world. but once I'm finished and thought about it, I come to the same point again and again. You could do it if ya got your act together. It really amazes me the talent that it is to be a published author. I doubt that I have that standard in me but I will get my own kind of writing out there one day hopefully. But for now I will continue to enjoy reading, words from the greats and learning as much from them as I can :) watch this space..............
