General Conference :)
It was that time of year again. The biannual General Conference. We looked forward to learning from the speakers throughout the weekend. The prophet. The apostles. Other church leaders. We prepared ourselves to watch at home on our Internet. We had handouts for each of the children and notebooks for ourselves, and some yummy snacks of course :) We didn't hear anything new necessarily. Apart from the church news of new temples, missionary numbers, and other news updates. We heard what we needed to hear. We felt the spirit in our home. All listening together. We raised our hands to sustain our leaders and sang along with the hymns. We bowed our heads in prayer as if we were in the room the prayer was being said. We showed respect for the event that it was. We were once told that it is not each family home evening that matters, but that we have family home evening as a good positive habit in our lives. I am thankful that we as a family know that each 6 months (at least) we have the privilege of listening to men and women called of god. That we can be guided by their words. I know that this "habit" will pay off in many ways in years to come.
