We decided, what better place could we choose for our Honeymoon, than the city of romance itself, Paris France. So with everything packed, bar the kitchen sink, we were off. Katja picked us up from our honeymoon suite of The Green isle Hotel. Bright and early the morning after our wedding. Without remembering to set our alarms the pervious night, we were lucky to wake at the exact time that we needed to leave

We rushed round and managed to leave on time. We flew, along with Katja, to the Preston Temple, where we were sealed together for time and all eternity. Dad, Bishop & Suzanne Coffey, Aoife & Ciaran kendellen, Sharon Emmerson and katja were all our guests for the sealing. It was special to have them all there with us. We stayed at the Temple for two days while everyone else flew home. It was so nice, to relax and feel the spirit of the Temple after all the hecticness running up to the wedding. We got to do some work for Patricks family. which really brought the purpose of the Temple to life.
After surviving yet another flight

we arrived to Paris

I was so excited, as I had never been to anywhere in Europe, besides England before. It was Patricks first time to France also, So we set out to discover it together. We walked to the closest taxi rank, grabbed the first taxi we saw, and put our suitcases into the booth. Then showed the driver our hotel address (not knowing too much French between us) When he looked at us with surprise and promptly went to remove our suitcases from his booth, We didn’t know what was going on. We then found a bus that would lead us to where we were staying. Once we were of the bus we could tell straight away why it was that the taxi man wouldn’t take us there. The ‘’lovely lady’’ in our travel agency, who told us we would be staying in the famous opera district of Paris city, had actually booked us into Le moulin plaza, right across from the moulin rouge opera house, in the RED LIGHT district aaahhh so Not what we had planned or wanted. haha
Despite the area, the hotel was very nice, and the people in it were very friendly. Giving us lots of information on places to see. We got our tickets for le car rouge. which was, the red bus basically ha, This took us all round the Gorgeous city of Paris. We went to visit, the Eiffel tower, which I thought very much resembled the great big pylon outside our front door back home haha But all the same, it was nice to see this monumental landmark of the country. We spent time in the Louvre which was one of my favourite places on our trip. The only down side was that despite the time spent there and the many circles we went round in, we didn’t manage to find the Mona Lisa

The perfect excuse to visit again ha. I also bought a lovely fan there which became invaluable to me in the hot hot sun

We also went to see and spend some time in Notre Dame cathedral. It was amazing seeing these places I had only ever seen on tv before, in real life. The architecture of this building blew me away. having studied the history of Art in school, I knew how much hard work and intelligence it had taken to bring it all about. It also amazes me that these building are stilled preserved to this day. that was a special time. we saw the arch de triumph, which I thought wasn’t too unlike any other arch I had seen before ha but the sculpture on it was interesting to see. We spent most of our time that day though, on the street beside the arch de triumph, which was called champs Elysees. WOW is the word needed here. I held a REAL Louis Vatong (spelt wrong sorry) bag, oh if only I were rich ha. there were so many other famous named shops. I was in my element. Didn’t buy much, other than McDonalds there though ha This in itself was an experience, with my tendencies to work the menu to my likeness. but I still managed to get my chicken sandwich plain, curly fries and side order of mayo

coke just wasn’t the same

the last place we went was a guilty pleasure, as we knew the children would have absolutely loved to be there with us. Disney land Paris. We arrived at 10 o’clock in the morning, after a long journey on the metro, (which by the way, I was very surprised to have no problem with) we stayed till about 10 that night, like big kids. it was great fun seeing all the Disney characters come to life in front of our eyes. We had dinner at Toads hall, where we finally got to see the Mona Lisa ha well the frog joke version anyway. It was HALARIOUS and unforgettable going on some of the rides with Patrick. He was so scared. but was a very good hubby and came on them with me anyway, cause he knew I really wanted to. Don’t think he’ll be doing anything like that again in a hurry haha. By the end of the day we were both exhausted from all the walking about, We bought some nice presents and headed back to our hotel to prepare to leave for home the next day.

Although we would be very sad to say goodbye to our newly found friend, the bedroom fan,(constantly on) we were excited to head back home (apart from the little thing of flying again) to begin our life as Husband and Wife. As a completed family

Paris was a beautiful city. magical as it had been described many times before. There was a lot more we would have loved to experience there, but hope to visit again with the children soon. or they will never let us live down going to Disney land without them ha. It was a very special time and one that wont be forgotten. Thank you Patrick for Sharing the memories with me xox
