Anthony’s Baptism :)

On Monday the 22nd of October 2007 Anthony turned 8 years old. How did that time fly by so fast? It only seems like yesterday, that I found out I was pregnant for the 1st time. He was so excited for this Particular birthday, not only for his presents and party, but for the special occasion of his Baptism. On Saturday the 27th of October 2007 in the Clondalkin Ward Chapel, of the Dublin Ireland Stake, Family and Friends gathered to celebrate this next step in Anthony’s life, with him.
A few weeks before this day, Anthony had so bravely, bore his growing testimony, to his dad and partner, Linda. He asked Ciaran if it would be ok for him to be baptised, and that by doing so, he would become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later day Saints. The spirit in the room was very strong, and Ciaran couldn’t help but to say yes. I was so Happy for Anthony, that he would have his fathers blessing. It meant a lot to him. He was delighted when Ciaran then agreed, with Linda, to come to his Baptism.

My dad Baptised Anthony. He looked so proud to baptise his oldest Grandson. seeing them both dressed in white, I really had to fight back my tears. I gave a talk on Faith. Audrey gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. We sang two of Anthony’s favourite hymns “I am a child of God” and “families can be together forever”. Some people bore testimony’s after the baptism itself, while I helped Anthony dress into his new suit. Anthony was then confirmed a member of the church and given the gift of the Holy Ghost. Dad also confirmed Anthony, and his Uncle John, Bishop Coffey and Charlie Keogh, stood in the circle with him.

It was a very special day all round. I am so Thankful for the great example Anthony is to Michael and Katie, and for the example he is to me on a daily basis. I look forward to sharing the next steps on Anthony’s journey with him, as well as sharing Katie and Michaels with them too Smile
