Another of my bright ideas Ha, Myself and Suzanne, bought Patrick and Bishop, tickets to see Erasure for their birthdays :) Both gaining brownie points, with neither of us being fans of the group ourselves. Ever since I had first started to date Patrick, back in August 2008, I knew that this day would come. As I listened to Patrick play his numerous albums from the group, I learnt to know & very surprisingly like most of their material. So on the 13th of June 2011, I had my very first live experience of Vince Clarke and Andy Bell. 80's synth pop group. Myself, Patrick, Bishop and Suzanne met at the (now famous ha) all you can eat Chinese restaurant, Jimmy Chung's. Just of O'Connell Street. This was the first time the Coffey's would have the special treat, that is Jimmy Chung's. We stuffed ourselves till bursting. So so yummy. A great start to a fun double date. We somehow, managed to walk the short distance, to the venue of the concert, which was The Olympia Theatre, Dame street. It is one of the smaller venues that Dublin has to Offer, but this made no difference to the show at all. From the very moment Andy & Vince took place on stage, the crowd were standing and dancing away to their upbeat tunes. For me it was a lovely experience, to finally, after watching them perform on dvd many times, see Andy and Vince live in action. I found myself singing away to all the songs, not realising I knew the words ha, and swaying in time with the music. They performed many of the songs that I had come to like best :) I think the whole Theatre was transported back to the 1980's for that one moment in time. I was so Happy that we had decided to share this night with friends. It was a great laugh and one that funnily, I think may just happen again :)
