Dublin Zoo :)

When the Sun decided to make an unexpected visit in mid February, We had no choice but to make the best of it :) So we decided to put our yearly Zoo pass to good use. Packed lunch and goodies sorted we headed for our bus. I was happy to have some time out together, but at the same time I wasn't too excited about the actual place we were going. The last few times that we were at the Zoo there were very little animals out to see. The kids, as well as me and Patrick were disappointed. So we were treating today as a nice picnic and a walk in the sun. We were surprised when we arrived to see the Zoo busy and almost all the animals out :) Katie was delighted to see lots of Giraffes. They were so friendly extending their necks very close to us.
Katie lost enthusiasm then (scardy cat). Patrick loved the Rhinos. They were very interesting to watch. One of them was starting fights with the others, and we even saw 2 of them getting very friendly together Ha. Michael was excited about the different Monkeys. They were so active. Real little entertainers. flipping and somersaulting. Anthony's favourite was the Zebras. In his words they're cool because there like Horses but just don't make the same sound ha. It made my day to see the elephants. It was ages since we had seen them. I hated walking away from them but it was feeding time for the penguin's. We arrived in time to see them do there little march in a line. We saw some swim in a gorgeous colour blue water. The sun shone for most of our visit, but once it started to dim we headed home. We had a nice treat of fish and chips for dinner. We all dropped of easily to sleep that night. Hopefully we have some more sunshine soon so we can visit again :)
